DISABILITY AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES THAT USE A HELPING PAW.
PERSONALISED AND INTEGRATED SUPPORT
OUR AIM IS TO WALK WITH OUR CLIENTS TOWARDS AN IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE.
We are a multi-faceted support service working within the scope of Disability Support, Mental Health, and Recovery Coaching.
We use our beautiful Animal Assisted Therapy Dogs to devise a unique experience and create a fun and personalised plan.

HOW WE HELP
MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
For people that experience anxiety symptoms, a goal might be to spend more time outside in different settings. Each week we could go for a walk with one of our dogs and end the session by having lunch or coffee at a local café.
If someone has a zoom session with a psychologist or psychiatrist and needs a fury friend to keep them company, we can help.
DISABILITY SUPPORT
For someone who is accessing Recovery Coach Support, it can be confronting and overwhelming. One of our dogs can help reduce anxiety and stress during sessions.
If someone has a goal that involves reaching and grasping, we focus on brushing the dog, playing fetch, or we can read a book while the person reaches out and pets the dog.
PLAY THERAPY/ANIMAL ASSISTED ACTIVITIES
For a child with ASD and ADHD, they may need to work on organisation and focus. We can work on a mini obstacle course for the dog which means each week we have to teach the dog the steps. We can also teach the dog tricks, which requires step by step concentration.

“I've been working with Ashlee for a couple of months now, I suffer anxiety disorder and was getting overwhelmed with just leaving my house, some days were emotionally and physically crippling, we started with just walking down my driveway and now I can almost walk to the shops by myself! I can't thank Ashlee enough, I didn't think I would ever feel ok doing "normal" things again, and I can't forget bean! I think she made a huge difference, she's so calming and I felt so comforted just by her being there. All in all very professional but also very caring and I feel like I'm actually being listened to and understood which is a nice change.”

PAWSOME TREATMENT TAILORED TO YOU!
WE ARE PROUD TO OFFER ANIMAL ASSISTED ACTIVITES WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY.
We use a goal-directed intervention developed by our team of professionals and highly trained therapy dogs to assist children, young people/teens, and adults with their needs in a playful, fun & caring environment.
We begin with the participants identified goals and use these to establish the direction of the sessions, nature of challenges, and the therapy dog best suited to the task.
Our sessions are completely personalised to the individual and can integrate all your other therapies into a programme that is uniquely yours!
